四展室——江湖春点春点，就是进行行话交流。自报家门，大家叙旧拉关系，以后有的是礼尚往来的机会，要是遇到陌生“朋友”，若是和匪首“春点”上了，贼首同意“借路”，就会回头喊一声“合吾”放行。要是对不上，那就会兵刀相见了，所以镖师每走一趟镖之前，都会打点好家中的一切，以防发生不测。例如： 贼人问：好美一池水（院子里有这么多财物） 镖师答：水里没有鱼（院子里没有多余的财物给你） 贼人问：水里鱼不少（院子里财物不少） 镖师答：鱼身上有刺（有财物也不是那么好拿的） 贼人说：扯活啦（我走啦）回过头来里边供奉的是水路观音（自在观音），走水路要拜的，出门求平安。镖鸽：镖鸽是镖局喂养的专门用于传递信息的信鸽，平时由专人训练与管理，遇有紧急情况时，承担镖局内部总号与分号之间的联系，以及镖队与镖局之间的联系。镖犬：镖犬是镖师圈养的专用犬只，是镖师走镖的重要助手，它负担着镖队的警戒任务，一旦发现有紧急情况，它会首先发出警报，提醒镖师注意。
Exhibition Hall 4 – Underworld Secret Jargon (Chun Dian)
Chun Dian refers to the secret cant used for communication among escorts and bandits. When two parties exchange their origins, they chat to build connections for future favors. If they encounter unfamiliar bandit leaders, matching the secret jargon correctly will prompt the bandit chief to grant passage with a shout of "Hewu". If they fail to match the code words, a violent fight will break out. For this reason, every escort settles all family affairs before setting off on a mission, preparing for the risk of fatal danger.
Example Dialogue of Secret Cant
Bandit: What a beautiful pool of water! (You carry a great deal of valuables.)
Escort: There are no fish in this pool. (We have no extra treasure to give you.)
Bandit: This pool teems with plenty of fish. (Your cargo holds abundant wealth.)
Escort: Every fish bears sharp thorns. (Our valuables are well-guarded and not easy to seize.)
Bandit: We pull out and depart. (We are leaving.)
The shrine here enshrines the Waterway Guanyin (Free and Easy Guanyin), whom escorts worshipped before riverine journeys to pray for safe passage.
Escort Carrier Pigeons
Specially bred and raised by the escort agency, carrier pigeons were trained and managed by dedicated staff. During emergencies, they delivered messages between the agency’s head office and branch offices, as well as between traveling escort teams and the headquarters.
Escort Guard Dogs
Trained guard dogs raised by escorts were indispensable companions for the entire journey, tasked with round-the-clock sentry duty. At the first sign of danger, they would bark to alert all escorts immediately.
